Fire Safe Council House

Recognizing the significant fire threat to his property, the Chair of the local Fire Safe Council undertook a comprehensive fire hardening project for his multi-level home. Situated in a High Fire Zone near a hilltop, the homeowner understood the imperative for maximum fire protection, despite already having non-combustible James Hardie fiber cement siding.

To address vulnerabilities, FireZone Exteriors systematically removed over 1,200 linear feet of  combustible wood trim and fascia boards, replacing them with matching fiber cement to enhance the home's fire resistance. Further safeguarding included applying two coats of FIRECOAT Exterior to all remaining woodwork, such as patio ceilings, beams, posts, and a shed, before the entire home received a fresh coat of paint and new colors!

The protection plan was completed by upgrading more than 70 vents to BrandGuard WUI compliant fire-rated vents and installing ember mesh under the porch, creating multiple layers of defense against embers and flame intrusion. This meticulous approach by a knowledgeable homeowner exemplifies proactive measures essential for mitigating wildfire risk in vulnerable areas.

Fire Protection in Placerville CA

Revolutionizing property protection, FIRECOAT Exterior stands as a game-changing fire-resistant coating that can be applied to most substrates just like conventional paint, significantly enhancing safety against fire. When exposed to flame or radiant heat, this innovative product expands to create an outer char layer, acting as an effective barrier that impedes ignition and slows the spread of flames.

Fire Zone Exteriors recently demonstrated its efficacy by installing this protective layer on a client's barn and other assets, where just two coats, easily applied by brush, roller, or sprayer, were sufficient to provide robust defense, and its water-based formula ensures safety for both users and the environment. For the Placerville barn project, the Fire Zone crew meticulously prepped the exterior through standard procedures like pressure-cleaning, scraping, sanding, and caulking, before applying two coats of grey FIRECOAT Exterior as an undercoat, followed by two coats of the client's chosen satin acrylic exterior top coat.

The result is a barn that not only boasts a fantastic new look but also possesses a dramatically increased level of resistance to wildfire, showcasing the dual benefits of aesthetics and crucial fire safety.

Home Hardening in Granite Bay CA

Following the devastating Palisades fires in Southern California, homeowners across the state, including those in seemingly safer Northern California communities, have been jolted into a new awareness of wildfire vulnerability. It's become chillingly clear that no home or structure is genuinely safe from the destructive power of a wildfire.

Even homes equipped with fire-resistant features like a tile roof, ember vents, and stucco can harbor critical vulnerabilities, as we recently found with a property in Granite Bay, California, where its wood eaves, soffits, and window seals posed a significant wildfire risk. Our expert team meticulously addressed these susceptible areas, first removing all existing dry rot and thoroughly prepping the home for treatment to ensure a pristine foundation. Following this, we diligently applied two comprehensive coats of FIRECOAT EXTERIOR to all combustible wood surfaces, dedicating extensive time to guarantee adequate coverage for maximum protection. Finally, two coats of a premium top coat were applied, not only enhancing the home's fire resistance but also leaving a beautiful, durable finish.

This project perfectly illustrates how FireZone Exteriors serves as your ultimate one-stop shop for both superior exterior painting and essential exterior fire protection, fortifying your home agains...
